GAIL Ujjwal
CSR initiatives under GAIL Ujjwal aided in providing quality education, by aiding underprivileged students in rural and urban slums, infrastructure support in Government schools and support for Atal Innovation Mission of Government of India in Assam & Madhya Pradesh. Under project GAIL Utkarsh, 260 students were provided free residential coaching for Engineering/Medical entrance examinations at 4 Utkarsh centres- Kanpur, Varanasi, Haldwani & Srinagar. In FY 2021-22, the results of 2020-21 batch was announced and out of total 180 enrolled students under the project, 167 students qualified JEE MAINS (93% batch result) and 94 students qualified JEE Advance (52% batch result).
GAIL Arogya
Medical healthcare facilities are extended to underprivileged population through health centric initiatives such as operation of Mobile Medical Units, STI clinics, COVID response initiatives, health camps, provision of medical equipment in Government Hospitals, clean drinking water and sanitation facilities. Under the aegis of MoP&NG, GAIL has set up and commissioned PSA oxygen plants in 12 Government hospitals across 4 states of Uttar Pradesh (Lakhimpur Kheri, Kasganj, Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Auraiya), Madhya Pradesh (Panna, Sidhi, Bhind, Guna), Rajasthan (Dholpur) & Karnataka (Udupi, Bidar). Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas & Housing and Urban Affairs, has inaugurated these PSA plants. The health initiatives undertaken by GAIL have helped bridge gaps in existing health infrastructure.
Under the guidance of MoP&NG, GAIL has procured 25,000 oxygen cylinders and regulators on behalf of Oil & Gas PSUs, of which 3000 nos. was GAIL’s share. GAIL was the nodal PSU for this collaborative exercise undertaken to aid the nation in its fight against COVID. Also, GAIL contributed towards purchase and distribution of 1000 nos. of Oxygen Concentrators under a collaborative initiative of Oil PSUs.
GAIL Kaushal
Under GAIL Kaushal, around 1500 individuals were provided skill training, in trades related to hydrocarbon sector, plastic product manufacturing, computer operation, data entry operator, cutting tailoring, beauty culture, vocational training to visually impaired etc. More than 1200 trained beneficiaries have been gainfully employed in various sectors with each beneficiary contributing to the growth in respective household income annually.
As part of its collaborative initiatives, GAIL has extended support towards six Skill Development Institutes (SDIs) over the years, viz. SDI- Raebareli, Bhubaneswar, Kochi, Vishakhapatnam, Ahmedabad and Guwahati. GAIL is the nodal PSU for SDI, Raebareli. These SDIs have been set up through collaborative efforts of Oil PSEs under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and are in line with “Skill India Mission” of Government of India. GAIL has extended continued support towards CAPEX and OPEX of Skill Development Institutes (SDIs).
GAIL Unnati
GAIL has undertaken several rural development programmes focused on making basic amenities accessible to the rural populace. Under this focus area, GAIL has repaired dilapidated houses, installed street lights, constructed roads, amongst other infrastructural and developmental CSR projects
GAIL Saksham
Aids and assistance devices are being provided to persons with disabilities (PwDs) under GAIL Saksham. The initiative has helped in empowering the PwDs in gaining confidence level and sense of dignity, reduction in dependency on others as well as more access to livelihood opportunities.
GAIL Sashakt
GAIL has undertaken several CSR initiatives towards empowering women. Support has been provided towards weaving of blankets through women SHGs and distribution of these blankets to poor and needy in villages and old age homes of Auraiya. Support has also been provided for empowering adolescent girls & women through employability and education in Pant Nagar, South Delhi and by providing sustainable livelihood opportunities for-women in Gurdaspur, Punjab. Support has also been extended for providing vocational training to women with visual impairment in Delhi.
GAIL Bharosa Centre at Medchal immensely helps women & children in distress by providing round the clock integrated services at one single place. The centre has unique features like special counselling room for child victims, video conferencing facility for recording the judicial statements, trauma counselling by experts, medical services, special workshops for victims & their families, along with creation of victim support groups, victim assistance through rehabilitation and financial assistance. It also serves as the location for Child Help Line & Child Welfare Committee to address the needs of victims.
GAIL Harit
Commitment towards the environment forms an implicit part of GAIL's Vision statement. As part of the bigger sustainability ambit, GAIL remains conscious of sensitivities associated with natural habitats and ecosystems.
As part of CSR initiatives ensuring environmental sustainability, support is being extended for conversion of diesel boat to CNG in Varanasi which will significantly improve the air and water pollution levels in Varanasi. Support is being provided for setting up 3 CNG crematorium at Cuttack & Bhubaneshwar in Odisha with an intention to reduce wood usage for cremation and for reducing air pollution. Support has also been extended in setting up Coir-Root Training Manufacturing Units at Parambikulam Tiger Reserve, Kerala.
