Rourkela, December 30, 2019: : ​GAIL Gas Limited along with the Rourkela Chamber of Commerce and Industries organized an interactive Session for industries to understated the utility of Natural gas as an efficient and effective fuel for industries in Sundergarh- Jharsuguda Districts at Chamber Bhawan, Rourkela. Shri Praveen Garg, President Rourkela Chamber of Commerce and Industries along with Shri B. Behera, GM(CGD Projects) and Officer In Charge Rourkela and Shri Ranveer Singh GM(Marketing), GAIL Gas Limited were present at the occasion.
The interactive session detailed the usage of Natural Gas for industries in boilers, furnaces, ovens, paint shops, kilns, vapour absorption machines industrial kitchens and Natural Gas genset etc. It also highlighted that PNG can replace conventional fuels such as High Speed Diesel, LPG, Furnace Oil, Light Diesel Oil etc with minor modifications to equipment and minimal investment. PNG is a fuel of choice for industrial sector such as Pharmaceuticals, auto components, casting and forging, food and beverage, printing and dyeing, power coating, ceramics, steel and glass etc. PNG has the least carbon footprint of all fossil fuels at about 55 kgs/mmbtu which is lesser than LPG, Diesel and furnace oil by about 12 %, 25 % and 30 % respectively.
The session elaborated the salient features of the gas supply contract in respect of invoicing, flexibility to revise the daily nominated quantity, over drawl of gas, price declarations, equipment and payment security and installation of metering skid & piping. The officers also discussed the benefit of using Natural gas over other fuels like husk, coal, wood etc.
