Further, OFC networks along under-commissioning & upcoming pipeline routes shall pass through major cities in the eastern part, central & southern part of India such as Patna, Bokaro, Barauni, Guwahati, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Aurangabad, Nagpur, Jabalpur, Raipur, Bhubaneshwar, Coimbatore, Hosur, etc. and strategic port locations such as Haldia, Dhamra, Paradip, Srikakulam, etc.

GAILTEL

GAIL’s OFC network is built largely along the highly secured GAIL's cross-country pipeline corridor, thereby ensuring high reliability of the network. For maintaining maximum availability of OFC network, dedicated region-wise OFC teams are available for round-the-clock response to any OFC related maintenance activity/event. The PAN-India OFC network is managed centrally on 24X7 basis through a state-of-art Network Operation & Control Centre (NOCC) located at Noida.

Based on the OFC network, GAILTEL maintains critical captive Telecommunication systems required for safe, reliable, remote and efficient 24x7 pipeline operations. These include Centralized Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition System (C-SCADA) system, Centralized APPS system (Leak Detection & Inventory Calculation), CCTV systems, Voice (EPABX) systems, Pipeline Intrusion Detection System (PIDS), etc. Dedicated Wireless Microwave Communication systems are also maintained for providing captive services in pipeline sections, where OFC based Telecommunication system is not available.

Apart from above mentioned captive services, GAILTEL also leases spare dark fibre (left after captive use) and Co-location infrastructure (based on feasibility) to third-party Telecom Service Providers (TSP) under its Infrastructure Provider Category – I (IP-I) registration on short-term/ long-term basis. Our major customers include Telecom Service Providers of the country such as Vodafone Idea Limited, Tata Communications Limited, Lightstorm Telecom, etc.
